Best dad ever

Lots of giggles lately

"Mom! Take my picture!"

What Is It With Water Fountains?

If a water fountain is near, you'll find Little Miss seems to be magnetically drawn to it. She loves them. She can hardly be pulled away from them. There's a water fountain in the lobby of her gymnastics class gym, there's a water fountain in her daycare, and here she found a new sort of water fountain while we were plant shopping.

New Chapter

Ava has started a new chapter in life and that chapter is Part Time Daycare. We started going 2 days a week recently. Ava seems to see both sides of this daycare coin...she loves the activities, other children and the staff. She does not seem to love what her instructors call "transitions" (moving from one activity to another) and operating within a structured schedule. It's just not been part of her world up to this point. The staff assure me this is normal for her age range...so phew. But we are really excited for this girl to continue to grow socially and developmentally with her new friends.

And she's off. The Lego table is just too enticing.

Mommy was typically emotional on the first day of daycare.

Little Miss Chit Chat

These days there isn't a lot that Ava can't/isn't saying. She cracks us up daily. And like all moms and dads, we often find ourselves saying "I want to remember this, but I'm afraid I'll forget what she just said as time goes by". So...I'm going to capture some of Ava's interesting sayings here on the blog.

I just have a few to start with:
  • "Look Mom...I'm swimming like a mermaid!" - said while "swimming" in her bathtub.
  • "I like your pretty hair" - note that the word hair can be replaced by a number of other things, like shirt, eyes, glasses, shoes, etc. Girlfriend pays attention to the details. :)
  • "Dad, you have a mustache. It's not hair, it's a mustache."
  • Mommy: "Ava, what did you eat at school today?", Ava: "Dragons"
  • "May I can go to gymnastics today?!", said every day of the week

Little Miss defnitely has a growing imagination. I've also noticed that she now tries to sing along to the radio on songs she doesn't know. She can pick up a chorus like no other! :)
